We are hiring for our first dedicated HR position at our Toronto Office. You will be responsible for a wide variety of HR related responsibilities, including:

  • Implementing programs in order to make Gravitational a great place to work, including performance coaching, employee relations, compensation review process, HR compliance, and employee development/growth.
  • Advise and consult management on HR policies and programs.
  • Manage recruiting for the Toronto location.
  • Engage and work with external software, tools and consultants to help get your job done in an efficient manner.
  • Creating job definitions and compensation ranges for recruiting and existing employee career advancement.
  • Create programs to measure employee satisfaction and improve on areas that are lacking.
  • Manage benefit and employee perks programs.
  • Act as an advocate, resource and independent party for our employees.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal state and local labor regulations.
  • Help to manage new HR initiatives across the various business functions and departments.
  • General office management activities.


Our ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

  • 2+ years of experience building and managing HR at a fast growing technology company.
  • Clear and friendly communicator and writer.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Self-starter that takes on new initiatives without much guidance.
  • Enjoys doing whatever it takes to execute on complex projects.
  • Empathetic and passionate about helping people enjoy their lives and succeed at their jobs.

It would also be a plus if you had any of these nice to haves:

  • Experience evaluating and purchasing HR related software and systems.
  • Implementing / integrating HR systems.
  • Roster of consultants that you are comfortable working with to help get things done.
